Exclusively expressed by flowing modern ballet, Shakespeare and His Women provides an unprecedented angle to look into the female characters of Shakespeare's classics.

A galaxy of world known artists jointly contribute to this new headline production: directed by Sherwood Hu, who is not only highly reputed in China but also soundly established on the international stage and screen, and choreographed by globally prestigious Bertrand d'At from Ballet du Rhin (France) and Hong Lan, Principal Soloist in Ballet du Rhin and National Ballet of China and Grand Prize recipient in the Fourth International Ballet Competition in Luxembourg; with music co-composed by Tan Dun, flagship character of contemporary Chinese music in the world music scene, and He Xuntian, composer of the sensational Sister Drum and other internationally coveted works. The ballet is presented by Hong Lan Studio.

由著名导演胡雪桦执导，曾任法国莱茵歌剧院芭蕾舞团和中央芭蕾舞团首席独舞、卢森堡芭蕾大赛金奖得主候宏澜与法国著名舞蹈编导伯兰特·德阿特联合编舞，中国先锋音乐代表人物谭盾与以《阿姐鼓》等蜚声海内外的著名作曲家何训田联合担纲音乐创作，候宏澜工作室演出。以行云流水的现代舞语汇结合古典芭蕾来诠释莎士比亚笔下性格各异的女性角色，开辟解读经典莎剧的全新视角。
